2026 8u Tryouts - Registration Open!
Sunday, May 17th, 2026
5:00 - 6:30 PM at Butler Lake Park, REB Field
Tryouts are open to players that meet all the following criteria:
- No older than 8 as of April 30, 2026
- Currently in 2nd grade within the Libertyville High School District 128 feeder boundary
- Currently registered in the Libertyville Little League AAA Division
There is no fee to attend the tryout. Selected players will begin practice in May and will play local travel games / tournaments in June and July (the Lincolnshire tourney is scheduled for June 24-28 remaining games will be scheduled soon after team formation). The participation fee for selected players is $220. For this same age group, tryouts for the 2027 season (when they will be 9u) will be held in July of this year (exact time and location to be determined). All players must register online before the tryout date.
Program Summary
Libertyville Youth Baseball is a community-based, non-profit feeder program for Libertyville High School. In 2026, LYB will field 15 teams with 183 players in 7 age divisions. We work closely with both Libertyville Little League (LLL), Libertyville High School (LHS), and Slammers to provide a high-quality community-based feeder travel program that gives players and parents an enhanced baseball experience.
Players selected for 8u and 9u are required to participate in LLL house baseball, while players selected for 10u, 11u,12u,13u, and 14u (all teams) are not required to play LLL house baseball.
Libertyville Youth Baseball is proud to continue its longstanding partnerships with LLL and Slammers personnel and facilities while also continuing to offer an excellent community-based baseball option for Libertyville players from ages 8 to 14. We look forward to continuing our tradition of developing fundamental baseball and life skills while wearing the Wildcat Orange and Black!
